The Exhibition at the O2
Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs

Tutankhuman exhibit piecesSince the discovery of his tomb in 1922, Tutankhamun has captured the hearts of people around the world. Buried with him were treasures beyond the imagination, a tomb holding the most magnificent treasures of the Golden Age of the Pharaohs and giving us a glittering glimpse into the past.

It has been almost 30 years since the golden artefacts of the boy-king last left their home in Egypt.

In the 1970's, the unprecedented King Tut exhibit fascinated millions of visitors with the marvellous treasures of King Tut's tomb, setting attendance records worldwide.

Now Tutankhamun's treasures are back, giving a new generation the chance to learn firsthand about the life and magic of this ancient monarch.

When Howard Carter uncovered the remarkably preserved tomb of Tutankhamun in 1922, he created a worldwide sensation. The only tomb of its era found intact and full of indescribable treasures, it was also the first major discovery in the age of easy worldwide communication. That, along with rumours of a mysterious curse, helped make Tutankhamun the most popular of the Egyptian pharaohs in the modern world.

Here, you will learn about his life, his death and the ancient curses that shaped King Tut's world.
